/ Bio
I got the music bug at a very young age seeing Elvis and then The Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show. My brother bought me my first guitar at the age of 7 to keep me from putting my grubby little hands on his. I never had formal lessons and learned from watching others and listening from the very beginning.
I was in numerous garage bands all the way thru to high school until I went into the service at 18. It was in the service that I was introduced to written music and music theory by people I met there.
After I left the service I entered college and majored in music but that proved to tedious and I left to join the bar scene and stayed on the road playing in that capacity for nearly 10 years. At very near the age of 30 I made the decision to leave that scene and get a regular job and pursue original music with friends I had made along the way in the Rogue Valley.
I started building a very conservative home studio with the technology available at the time and working on the music. As time passed I replaced items that were not durable or expandable by today’s standards and went to the PC as the platform for the rest of the studio to be built around.
The music itself is varied to a fault and I hold no certain style as I enjoy all music and let myself explore whatever whim possesses me at the time I sit to write. It is what I and some of my compadres call The Mad Scientist Syndrome.
I have acumulated a long roster of guitars but my favorite's are my Ibanez RG Series and Ibanez aucustics.
Just in the last year I have hooked up with my very good freind Shybo(vocal/rythem) and along with and even older freind Jerry(drums) and some new freinds Mark(keyboards) and Marty(bass) we have built the band Ring of Trees and will be presenting ourselves to the local public soon. Visit our site here on Bonxo and drop by and visit Mark Thomas here as well.
If you give a listen and enjoy to any degree what you hear I am honored. Come back as I will add new songs from time to time.
