| Started in 2002 in Los Angeles as a four piece, Jupiter Sunrise is Mark Houlihan (vocals/lead guitar), Ben Karis (vocals/guitar), Chris Snykus(drums/vocals) and Aaron Case (bass/vocals). Sharing lead vocal duties, Houlihan, Karis and Rogers sweep the gamut of style, pulling influences from the best of the 60’s and 70’s – Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Bob Dylan, The Beatles - and a few favorites from present day such as Radiohead, Wilco, Death Cab for Cutie and The Flaming Lips.
Three years of solid national touring, culminating in a full run on the 2005 Van’s Warped Tour as the headlining act in the Myspace.com tent have proven the endurance and appeal of Jupiter Sunrise. And they’re only just getting started. “Under a Killer Blue Sky”, the group’s first full length nationally released record, has made an impact as a diverse
batch of pop rock songs, both fun and poignant. But between and during their furious touring schedule has emerged a powerful and experienced sound that promises their next record to expand the boundaries of rock music. They are recording this record in their vegetable oil powered bus
while on tour now, posting each freshly created tune on MySpace. With plans to tour for the rest of the year, and a trip to Japan in the works, this is just the beginning…
